Referendum D: Repeal of Obsolete Constitutional Provisions
You should see the list of "obsolete constitutional provisions" listed on Oregon's ballot! "Prior to adoption of the Oregon Constitution, the Oregon Territory had enacted two African-American exclusion bills (1844 and 1849) that banned African-Americans from owning property or residing in Oregon." Yikes!
Thank goodness our "obsolete" provisions are not quite as emotional as theirs. They relate to debts which have long been paid, a provision that was ruled unconstitutional, stuff like that.
